Downloading installers
If you are undertaking a Bladed evaluation or are attending a training course, you will be provided with links to download the required installers.
A Veracity account is required to download Bladed installers (Veracity is DNV's online platform which allows access to a range of DNV services). If you do not already have a Veracity account, create an account using your corporate email address (do not use personal email addresses, such as gmail).
To install Bladed on your machine, download the following installers from the Downloads page:
- The latest Bladed release from the Current products tab.
- The optional Results Viewer application from the Utilities tab. This is a standalone package providing enhanced results viewing functionality (and is required for following the “Getting started with Bladed” eLearning course).
If you receive a "Sorry, you don't have access" error message when downloading an installer, please contact us to enable your download access.
The following additional applications are also available from the Downloads page:
- Bladed Results API - an API for interacting with results data programmatically
- Bladed SIF to Wdnh Converter - a tool to help import Wadam data into Bladed
- dtbladed for Linux - a Linux version of the Bladed calculation engine (dtbladed), click here for further information
Hardware requirements
Bladed is designed to run on a PC with the following minimum specification:

| RAM | 4GB | 1GB per core; high bandwidth RAM recommended (e.g. DDR3). If insufficient memory is available, calculation performance will be reduced. |
| Processor Speed | 2.5GHz | Fast single-threaded performance recommended. In general, the higher the clock speed, the faster an individual calculation will run. |
| Processor (Logical) Cores | 4 | One core required per calculation; one further core required per instance of the user interface. |
| Screen Resolution | 1280 x 1024 | Display scaling should be set to 100%. |
| HDD | 2GB required for installation files | SSD recommended for fast IO performance. |
Installation
Run the Bladed installer (and optionally the Results Viewer installer):
- All installers should be run by right-clicking on the installer executable file and clicking "Run as administrator".
- It should not be necessary to change any of the default settings on any of the installer screens – please simply click through all of the screens.
