Bladed Knowledge Centre Help library Getting started Learn to use Bladed
Overview
To start learning how to use Bladed, it is recommended to use the following resources to gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Bladed:
Further learning resources can be found in the rest of the Bladed Knowledge Centre. DNV also provides a range of training courses.
Further details are provided below.
eLearning
The best way to start learning how to use Bladed is to follow the self-paced "Getting started with Bladed" eLearning course. The course consists of a series of video lessons that will help you get up and running with Bladed quickly.
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
- Navigate the Bladed interface
- Understand the range of simulations and their purpose
- Run both steady state and dynamic simulations
- Visualise the results
- Post-process the outputs
Your Bladed license includes complimentary access to the eLearning course. If you have not already been provided with access to the course, please click here and follow the "Register Here" link.
User manual
The Bladed user manual provides general instructions on how to use the Bladed application - this can be opened from the Help menu in the Bladed GUI.
This user manual is complimented by the Bladed theory manual, which is available on the online documentation site (currently under development), which also contains modelling and workflow information for selected topics.
Demo models
Several demo models/projects are included as part of the Bladed installation, which can be used to learn about how to build different types of fixed and floating models. Click here for further details.
Batch manual and videos
Once you are comfortable with running simulations from the Bladed GUI, you can use the "Batch" tool to queue up multiple simulations to be run at a later time (either on the local machine, across multiple machines on the network, or using the Bladed Cloud service). Batch is installed as part of the main Bladed installation.
To learn how to use Batch, please read the Batch user manual and watch the tutorial videos. Click here for further details.
