5. Course summary

Duration: 3 minutes

Congratulations!

You've completed the "Getting started with Bladed" eLearning course

What you learnt

This course introduced you to key functionalities of DNV’s Bladed 4, the industry standard software for the design of onshore and offshore wind turbines.

By now, you should have an idea of the workflow you need to follow in your project:

  • In the introduction we navigated through the blade and tower modules to show how data is generally inputted in every model.
  • In the steady state simulations, basic calculations to extract the ideal, time-fixed turbine performance of the rotor are explained. They are very useful for preliminary checks and generally used to obtain an overview of the model behaviour.
  • The core of every wind turbine project is in the dynamic simulation. Starting from the very basic, but powerful options shown in this section, you will be able to explore the envelope of every environmental condition needed to design / certify / review a wind turbine.
  • The final module introduced you to the list of Bladed post-processing capabilities and explored the more in detail how to extract statistical quantities from the time histories obtain after the calculation run.
