Overview
This is a cloud-managed licence that requires any client PC to have continuous internet access (a short offline period of a few minutes is allowed to account for connectivity issues). The shared licence access key allows the DNV software to run on any client PC with internet access to DNV's licence servers. Multiple concurrent users can access the software up to the limit defined in the licence.
Licence Administrator: Obtaining your access key
A designated Company Licence Administrator retrieves an access key from My DNV Software and forwards it to the end user. Only Company Licence Administrators have access to these codes.
The access key is obtained from the Access Key section of the Licences tab. One access key provides access to all products your company is entitled to. You can either:
- Copy the key to share manually, or
- Invite Users to send an email with the key, setup instructions, and learning resources.

End user: Licence activation
To activate your licences you need to register your access key (obtained from your company's licence adminsitrator) using the Licence activation tool, available in Application Version Manager (AVM) version 4 or later.



Once the access key is registered successfully, you can launch your licensed applications and start working.
Note: If you uninstall AVM after activating your licence, you will need to reinstall AVM and reactivate your licence using the License activation tool from AVM.
Viewing your usage
The designated Company Licence Administrator can monitor usage in My DNV Software, under the Usage section of the Licences tab. This allows administrators to see which users are currently using the licences and revoke access if needed.

FAQ's
- How do I know if my licence will work with the current version of the installed software?
If the licence is not supported by the version of the application being launched, an error message will appear, and the software will not start. - How do I reset my licence configuration?
Launch the Licence Activation tool from Application Version Manager, then use the Reset button to return the tool to its initial screen and activate with a different access key.
