Plate Code Check in GeniE by DNV Rule

This workshop addresses how to perform a plate code check for yield and buckling, based on DNV Rule, in GeniE. The yield check is performed against DNV-RU-SHIP Pt.3 Ch.7 Sec.3 and the buckling check is performed against DNV-RU-SHIP Pt.3 Ch.8 Sec.4 / DNV-CG-0128 Sec.3 CFM.

It includes:

  • Model preparation - corrosion addition, structure type, mesh and design condition
  • Running structural analysis and result check
  • Performing yield check (plate & beam yield)
  • Performing buckling check (plate & stiffener buckling)
  • Making a plate code check report

A GeniE GNX workspace file is used. The attached description explains all the steps to do the workshop.

This workshop addresses how to perform a DNV-RP-C201 Sec.6.4 - SCM2 buckling check and a DNV-OS-C101 element yield check using Sesam Core.

It includes:

  • Running analysis, exporting model and result file in GeniE
  • Exporting (buckling) capacity model from GeniE
  • Performing buckling check using Sesam Core
  • Performing yield check using Sesam Core

A .pln file is required for a Wasim analysis (time domain hydrodynamic analysis). This workshop introduces how to create a .pln file in GeniE and how to check it in HydroD.

Floater Hydrodynamic Analysis

This example involves using Sesam Manager, GeniE, HydroD, Postresp, Sestra and Xtract. The example demonstrates how to do a hydrodynamic analysis followed by a structural analysis of a floating object. Analysis of a condition with water-filled compartments is also included.
