General About Nauticus Machinery
The Nauticus Machinery software is a set of calculation tools intended for strength assessment of rotating machinery components and systems. It consists of the following calculation tools:
- Nauticus Shaft Alignment
- Nauticus Torsional Vibration
- Nauticus Shaft Fatigue
- Nauticus Crankshaft Fatigue
- Nauticus Gear Faceload
- Nauticus Gear Rating
- Nauticus Propeller Blade
- Nauticus Controllable Pitch Mechanism
The software operates with either a portable local database (SQLite) for standalone use or a server database (SQL Server Express) for multi-user collaboration, allowing flexibility based on user needs.
Software Components
Nauticus Machinery Client
The Nauticus Machinery Client contains all the calculation tools and includes a portable local database (SQLite). This allows users to work independently on their own computers without requiring a network connection or central server. It is the default setup for single users.
Two licensing systems:
Nauticus Machinery Client is available with two different licensing systems depending on the software version. Choose the page that matches your licensing system.
Legacy Licensing System (Versions ≤ 15.0.1)
Traditional licensing methods including network, dongle, and standalone licences.
Supported Versions: All versions up to and including 15.0.1
License Types: Network, Dongle, or Standalone
Latest Version: 15.0.1 (Final release with legacy licensing)

Modern cloud-based and device-lock licensing for simplified management and activation.
Supported Versions: All versions from 16.0.0 onwards

Important: Version 15.0.1 is the final version supporting legacy licensing. Starting from version 16.0.0, only the new licensing system will be supported. Existing legacy license users will need to migrate to the new licensing system to use version 16.0.0 and later.
Nauticus Machinery Server
The Nauticus Machinery Server is mainly required for team collaboration, providing a central database (SQL Server Express) where multiple users can store, access, and share project data. The server installation is independent of the licensing system used by the clients.
