Video: Introduction to dynamic simulations
Key learnings
Dynamic simulations are the real core of Bladed, being able to reproduce a real-world loading condition on your model.
You can analyse the time history obtained with the simulated calculation for multiple applications, such as certification, structural integrity assessment, control design and many more.
Bladed 4 comes with multiple calculation options to reproduce all the possible states of a wind turbine operation range:
- Power production
- Start
- Normal stop, where the standard procedure is followed to make the rotor come to a stop
- Emergency stop, a fast stop procedure activated only in extreme conditions
- Idling, a condition where the blades aligned with the wind to leave the rotor free to slowly rotate with no aerodynamic torque on the rotor
- Rotor in idling conditions, but with rotor locked in position and not free to move
- Hardware test for hardware-in-the loop simulations
