CloudLM
This is a cloud-based licence manager requiring any client PC to have continuous internet access (with a short offline period of a few minutes allowed to account for internet connectivity issues). The shared licence access key allows the DNV software to run on any client PC which has internet access to DNV's licence servers which host the licence files. Multiple concurrent users can access the software up to a limit defined in the licence.
Obtaining your access key
A designated Company Licence Administrator will retrieve an access key code from https://mysoftware.dnv.com, which they will forward to the end user. Only designated Company Licence Administrators have access to these access key codes. The access key is obtained in the Access key section of the licences tab. One access key will provide access to all products your company is entitled to. Click on the white box to open the Access Management page. Then click Manage product where the access key can be copied.
Installing your licence
The access key is installed in the software using the licence activation tool, which will appear when you try to start Phast or Safeti without a licence present.
The access key will provide the end user with the core product and one seat of each add-on the company is entitled to. If you do not wish to install the add-on, please click the red stop button:
Once you have activated, your access key the tool will show you the products and add-ons you are entitled to. You can then use the "Restart Application" button to launch the application and get started.
If the user wants to change their entitlement click on Help and Licence to open the Licence Activation window.
Click on the red button, to revoke, or green tick to restore access.
Viewing your usage
The usage can be viewed by the designated Company Licence Administrator in My DNV Software in the Usage section of the Licences tab. This allows the account administrator to view the users currently using the licences and revoke access if required.

FAQ's
- How do I know when my licence will expire?
- Each product and add-on listed after activation will display the expiration date of the licence.
- How do I know if my licence will work with the current version of the installed software?
- If the licence does not support the version that is being started the licence activation tool will be displayed with an error message indicating the licence does not support this version. The activation tool will display the version of the software being launched and the date it was published. If your licence SLA ended prior to this date the software will not run.
- My colleague and I share a product add-on, how can we control who has access to it?
- The license tool contains a mechanism for disabling the use of product add-ons, represented by a red hand. Launch the license tool using the button the "Help" ribbon of Phast or Safeti, then clicking the red hand next to an add-on will stop your machine from using this add-on when the software is re-started.
- How do I reset my licence configuration?
- Launch the license tool using the button the "Help" ribbon of Phast or Safeti, then you can use the Reset button in the application to return the activation tool to the initial screen and activate with a different access key.
