Conversion

The calculations described in Irradiance deal with calculating how much light is available to the modules for conversion to electrical power. This section describes how the conversion of this available light to electrical power is modelled in SolarFarmer, up to inputs to the inverters.

Note that many inverters have more than one set of inputs with separate MPP tracking systems, allowing for separate arrays experiencing disparate conditions to be connected to a single inverter but tracked separately. SolarFarmer models multiple MPPT inputs, by trying to optimize power while staying within the inverter constraints.
